Transition options
Electrifier Pro can move from one actor or track within an actor sequence to another using any one of the 140 transitions defined by the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE). These transitions fall into twelve families, which are described below.
For those who want further details about specific transitions, or who want to be able to see how the effect settings affect the resulting track, there is a preview of each transition (using the current settings) in the Transitions dialog box.
- Alpha Composite
-
Blends two tracks using an alpha channel. The Alpha Composite transition is similar to the Masked Ink effect in the Modifier palette.
Blend Mode: The type of alpha channel blend to perform
- Chroma Key
-
Makes a single color in the current track transparent so the next track can be seen through it. The Chroma Key transition is similar to the Transparent Ink effect in the Modifier palette.
Key Color: The color in the first track to make transparent
- Cross Fade
-
Gradually increases the translucency of the current track to reveal the next. The Cross Fade transition is similar to the Fade effect in the Modifier Palette.
Start percentage: The initial translucency of the track
End percentage: The final translucency of the track
- Explode
-
Pushes the current track out of the way of the next as if it were printed on a rubber sheet being stretched around an expanding hole.
- Gradient Wipe
-
Draws the next track over the current one as if it were projected on a slowly forming surface. The formation of the surface is specified by the brightness of the pixels in a matte image (pixels corresponding to lighter pixels in the matte are drawn first).
- Implode
-
Pulls the current track out of the way of the next as if it were printed on a rubber sheet which is collapsing down to a point.
- Iris
-
Draws the next track over the current one as if it were projected on an expanding geometric shape.
- Matrix Wipe
-
Draws the next track over the current one as if it were projected on a tiled surface to which new tiles are continuously added.
- Push
-
The next track shoves the current one out of the way as if both were printed on abutting surfaces.
- Radial
-
Draws the next track over the current one as if it were projected on the surface swept out by a rotating line.
- Slide
-
Moves the next track over the current one as if it were printed on a moving surface.
- Wipe
-
Draws the next track over the current one as if it were projected on a moving or expanding surface.
